The Puerto Vallarta Gay Men’s Chorus (PVGMC) kicks off Puerto Vallarta’s 2019 Pride Week with its 8th annual Pride concert, “The Rainbow Connection.” This amazing group of singers is excited to perform many well-known songs from movies, including several Oscar-nominated and Oscar-winning favorites, such as “Time of My Life” (Dirty Dancing), “Rainbow Connection” (Pink Panther), “Recuérdame” (Coco), “My Heart Will Go On” (Titanic), “Shallow” (A Star is Born), and many more! Artistic Director, Derek Carkner, says, “I have always loved soundtracks and songs from movies! Whether a song reminds you of a specific scene in a film, or triggers a certain cinematic memory, the power of the soundtracks is what we want to celebrate! I am excited to be able to share these beautiful choral arrangements with our audience!” The PVGMC will also be joined by guest artists, Joby Hernandez and Hedda Lettuce!
Now in its 8th year, the PVGMC is a bilingual, cross-cultural chorus with members from Mexico, Canada and the United States. It was the first organization of its kind in Mexico and all of Latin America and is a proud member of GALA Choruses (www.galachoruses.org), a worldwide organization that represents over 8,000 singers and over 170 choruses around the world! Under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Carkner, it has elevated its performance standard and has built bridges of understanding, acceptance and love, as well as created renewed awareness and appreciation of music across all of Banderas Bay.

El Coro de Hombres Gay de Puerto Vallarta inicia la semana del Pride 2019 con su Octavo concierto anual “The Rainbow Connection”, este grupo de cantantes está emocionado por cantar canciones de películas inolvidables así como de películas nominadas al premio Oscar, tales como: Time of my life” (de Dirty Dancing), “The Rainbow Connection” (de The Muppet Movie), “Recuérdame” (de Coco), “My heart will go on” (de Titanic), “Shallow” (de A star is born) y muchas más!.
El director Artístico, Derek Carkner comenta: “Siempre he amado las bandas sonoras y la música de películas; una canción puede evocarte una escena específica o recordarte de algún momento en especial y eso es lo que queremos celebrar!.Estoy emocionado por poder compartir estos hermosos arreglos corales con nuestra audiencia”.
El PVGMC tendrán como invitados especiales a los artistas Joby Hernández y Hedda Lettuce.
Ya en su octavo año de vida, el PVGMC es un coro multicultural con miembros de México, Canada, Los Estados Unidos y algunas otras partes del mundo. Fué la primera organización de este tipo en México y toda latinoamérica, es miembro de “Gala Choruses” (www.galachoruses.org) una organización mundial que representa más de 8000 cantantes de 170 coros internacionales. Bajo la dirección de su director artístico Derek Carkner, se ha elevado su nivel y se han construido puentes de aceptación, entendimiento y amor, así como el aprecio y gusto por la musica coral en toda la Bahía de Banderas.
